Through a series of experiments and iterative testing, I designed two typographic works that contain and communicate the same information. One of the works manifests using a formal approach that is concerned with function, clarity, readability and hierarchy. The other typographic work attempts to be ‘expressive’ in its visual form and add layers of meaning to the content by utilising composition, manipulation and processes.
I produced around 50 iterations for each of the posters to experiment and explore various approaches. Here are some of the iterations and processes I have gone through. I looked at the book Slanted 40 - Experimental Type, and some works by Gianluca Alla, Kayleigh McCarthy, and Bob Cobbing for inspiration and research.
